Keeping physically active is an important part of the health and wellbeing of all of us. For patients with dementia, an active lifestyle can provide a wealth of benefits – from reducing the risk of high blood pressure to increasing confidence.
There are a number of ways to alleviate the progression of dementia, through activities and reminiscence, by exercise and positive stimulation and reassuring people throughout difficult periods. Where people have the ability, they are encouraged to do more for themselves, and even take on certain roles or responsibilities to assist with daily living to promote life skills.
The design, equipment and layout of our developments, along with trained staff ensure safe, comfortable and secure internal and external areas, allowing individuals to do as much or as little for themselves as they are able to do, safe in the knowledge that mobility aids and assistive technology are available to support our clients who need additional support.
