We are looking for Kitchen Assistant - Part Times to work shifts on a basis.

Essential Characteristics:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Writing, recording, and reporting skills

  • Belief in treating people with dignity and respect

  • Ability to empower people to make their own choices

  • Ability to cook

  • Ability to follow food safety requirements


Desirable Characteristics:
  • Previous experience of working in a care setting

  • Qualification(s) in catering

  • Qualification(s) in food safety/hygiene

We will provide all the training you need, plus competitive rates of pay and a great place to work in.
Your duties in this role would be to support residents in their daily lives including (but not limited to):

  • To support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals and snacks throughout the day for clients in line with their dietary needs and preferences

  • To support the preparation of menus in consultation with clients, cooks and care home managers

  • To assist with stock management in conjunction with the cook/care home manager

  • Ensure that stock records are maintained as per company requirements

  • To maintain food safety checks and records as per company requirements

  • To be professional and courteous at all times with clients, colleagues, external professionals, family members, and visitors to the home

  • To ensure that you are aware of any company policy and procedures, staff handbook, etc, and ensure that they are adhered to at all times

  • To follow any health and safety procedures required of you and to ensure that any health and safety risks are reported to the manager immediately


Experience
Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
QCF/NVQ 1 or 2 in Health and Social Care preferred or a willingness to work towards this.
